Gems has spent 25 years establishing itself as one of the UK's leading suppliers of cleaning and hygiene products and throughout that time, we have sought to reduce our impact on the environment.
Operating from a purpose-built distribution centre in Sheffield, we are proud of our Yorkshire roots and the city's reputation as one of the country's greenest. Its proximity to the Peak District serves to remind everyone at Gems how important it is to adopt a proactive approach to our environmental responsibilities.
Gems' experienced customer advisers offer guidance on the most specific hygiene matters and can recommend a solution from our wealth of highly effective, biodegradable products, designed to tackle everyday and specialist cleaning issues.
To demonstrate our commitment to environmental sustainability, Gems has drawn up a five-point plan outlining our green credentials:

Gems staff are trained to offer advice and guidance on suitable products and their correct usage, to avoid wastage. - To observe a stringent chemicals policy -
Gems only supplies products that meet and where possible, exceed regulatory requirements. We actively source suppliers who have voluntarily removed minority ingredients that are not covered by existing industry agreements, but that are not considered justifiable. - To source innovative products that make cleaning easier -
products that clean effectively first time eliminate the need to repeat the action and therefore, reduce the amount of chemicals being used. - To minimise packaging and transportation -
by supplying products in larger doses, we can reduce the number of bottles you need to buy and the deliveries we make. - To work in partnership with customers -
Gems sources products that use the most biodegradable materials and we always urge clients to recycle their empty containers.
