Gems Sees Combat Sales Soar In War On Mould

Sheffield’s Gems Hygiene is leading the battle against black mould, as sales of its washroom cleaner, Combat, increase more than three-fold in the first quarter of this year.
In the last three months alone, Gems has recorded a 73% rise in sales of Combat, compared to the same period in 2009, with its popularity peaking in January.
The anti-bacterial cleaner is specifically designed for use in wet areas and is proven to be effective against black mould, MRSA and undesirable smells, making it a firm favourite with growing numbers of gyms, leisure centres, hotels, nursing homes and other organisations with public washrooms.
Frequent use of Combat will also prevent the fungi found in warm, damp areas returning, keeping grout, tiles, bath surrounds, shower cubicles and wet surfaces clean and hygienic, by safely and effectively stopping the build-up of body fats and greasy deposits.
Sarah Wade, Gems’ marketing manager, said: “Combat is perfect for organisations with large areas to clean that are subject to constant heat and water. It is imperative for the safety of the public that bacteria is kept at bay and we are very happy to see growing numbers of clients recognising the quality of this versatile and economic product. We are confident we can build on this early sales success and retain our position at the forefront of washroom hygiene.”
